Kuantan

I loved the beaches!! Sun tanning and all that jazz. I love visiting the beach at night too and having night time piggy back ride!!

although it does not have the cleanest sand and water but at least it has beaches for people to enjoy the gentle breeze…and the sunny sun…

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Kuantan, 1973-75. Great beaches, great food, lovely people, idyllic lifestyle. Wonderful memories.

This place is worth visiting cos of the beach and the cheap and good seafood. The downside is the horribly long bus journey from Singapore to Kuantan. If you’re not travelling by bus, then that’s good. But it’s only reachable by bus I think, unless you decide to drive there by yourself.

I arrived from Kuantan by the earliest flight this morning. I stayed in Legend Resort Cherating, about 45km north of Kuantan, for 3 nights. This the 2nd time I visited the same place.

Actually, I’m not a beach person. I don’t like the idea of having more sun-tanned skin and I rather stay somewhere colder. It was my friend who invited me to spend a weekend away. So I thought, well, why not? At least I can get away from this remote cyberjaya for a change.

First time I came here, I just loved it. It was warm, bit cloudy day and the crystal blue ocean welcomed me. The second time, I enjoyed walking at the beach, did some sketches and played silly games and jokes with my friend. Also the food was wonderful. I was well-nutritioned in here!

Then, guess what? I’m getting in love with the beach and next time, I must prepare my bikinis (also, loads of sunblock cream) and take a big plunge. :p
