Yokohama aka: 横浜

So easy to get to from Tokyo, and it’s really westernized (which is fantastic if you’ve been living in Chiba for 4 years). Landmark Tower was a little on the expensive side, especially when you can get a free view of Tokyo from the Government Metropolis Building in Shinjuku.

Friend teaching English let me stay with him for 2 months. Too far from Tokyo.

I visited Yokohama on a recent trip to Tokyo. This being the 2nd largest city in Japan it’s said to be a mini Tokyo so I’m not sure if I would put this on a must visit list since it’s so close to Tokyo itself. None the less it’s worth a day trip (or half day) if you’re going for a few specific things like the Ramen Museum. It’s only about 20-30 min from Tokyo by train.

I was going to visit my cousins. It was the first time I had been anywhere in Japan other than Hiroshima. I was <5. Don't remember much from it, but do have many videos of the trip :). Since then I've been going back once every two years or so..

I lived in Yokohama for 5 years as I was a kid. Don’t remember too much but today I do LOVE japanese food and green tee, so something must have stuck :)
