The food are wonderful and also Taman Raya are very romantic

When i just married, i always spend my weekend there. Just jump from one hotel to another. I love the air n the foods…

Little cooler in temperature than Jakarta, with the same traffic headache…But with various interesting food and snacks!
Go a little higher, Ciawi, Mega Mendung, Cipanas area and so on…., you can rent (or buy!) villas in which you may enjoy the mountain view, take a ‘tea’ walk in the tea plantation and some other outdoor activities.

bogor itself is not worth the trip from jakarta.

what we did was to rent a car+driver and go via puncak pass to bandung. tea fields, great views etc. but don’t go on the weekend, it’s crowed and they sometimes make it a one way road.

its a lovely small town in indonesia… believe me come to bogor theres more than just the beauty botanical garden

must visit the botanical garden. Food is great too.

Traveling through the crazy traffic in a “bimo” (sp?) with an Indonesian driver is a must. Whole different set of rules over there! Head up the mountain to taman safari to see a great wildlife park. On the way back down, stop at the roadside shack that overlooks the city for a delicious dessert of fried bananas with chocolate and sprinkles!

It was ‘friend cum tourist guide’ who worked at the hotel where I stayed who brought us there.
She booked the 3rd class train (klas kambing) instead.
It was an eye opener for me as I saw the real life of Indonesian people…. something to ponder.
Huge botanic park in Bogor … loads of ppl with families esp wknd
Seen many nicer botanic parks tho ;)
Took the bus bck to Jakarta. Worth the trip

But if you do end up in Bogor, don’t skip the botanic garden.
