We visited this bustling city to take a look at the Dravidian Temples. Awesome

Nice People. Lotsa pollution. Crazy moped dirvers. One mountain in sight with a temple on top.

The place:

A river, an island in it and it’s two banks is what makes Trichy.

The people:

Truly ethnic South Indian Dravidians. I have rarely seen a man or a woman wearing trousers or jeans or other western attire, except in my workplace and there too the trend is confined to the lower garments of the men. The men otherwise go for Lungi (which is like a continuous loop of colored cloth and is stepped into rather than wrapped around) or Dhoti (White cloth wrapped around the lower body) along with shirts and the women go for Sarees or Salwar Suits. The place’s main attractions are temples to Sri Krishna as he’s known up north and around most of the world (ISKCON) or Sri Rangam as he’s known here.
