If you want to immerse yourself in “Real India” you can stay in the major cities (and might as well visit the West for all the difference you’ll see), visit the farms (you may have bitten off more than you can chew, as it were), or you can visit a small state capitol.

This city has an airport, all the vital services, and yet doesn’t shield you from how 800 million of India’s 1 billion live.
