I was born here! I love here!

I lived here for a year or so when I was 12, I loved it. So much. A lively city. University area is my favorite part of the city – full of little shops and cafes, students and other ExPats, plenty to do, plenty of people to meet. It’s especially convenient for visiting nearby cities as well – Dali, Li Jiang, Cheng Du, etc.

definitely recommended for the Expo Garden

Probably one the very few places in china where the weather is agreeable in the summer. Breezy 70’s is what we had in July. Very diverse place, people-wise. I would steer clear of the zoo because it’s really depressing.

so many bicycles, so few red lights. the central park where the early morning is filled with people gracefully excersizing or airing out their birds in cages. the school of traditional chinese medicine. the little shops where you can buy ink and brushes or maybe a chop. graceful wide streets, tree lined.
