I was here for my birthday one year. Cool place to walk around. You can see everything pretty much in a day. Maybe two if you just want to chill. I highly recommend the Hilton here. I traveled here for a work conference. It is a beautiful city. It is a nice train trip from London and it was great to get out of the crazy big city. The York Minster is enormous and amazing. And when you get tired, enjoy some tea and cake at the York branch of Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms. over 4 years agoSecond city - once by David CrossYork was the second city of England in medieval times and it could be regarded as Capital of the North until the industrial revolution.
