    Worth visiting!

not enough to do it justice, but when that’s all you’ve got do your best! I enjoyed feeding the swans begging for the crusts from my sandwich. They were floating along past the riverside table in the warm May sunshine. After lunch, I strolled along the river and crossed into the old town through the Kings Gate which featured a Stewart coat of arms from the 14th century!
Coming upon Salisbury Cathedral, I was disappointed to see that it covered in scaffolding. I hate it when that happens because it detracts from my photos. On the other hand- it’s a necessary evil-upkeep for future generations. I didn’t put 2 & 2 together until I saw the card in the gift shop but, Salisbury Plain is where the Beatles filmed HELP! This place is worth a re-visit in my book.

How this place changed my life  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I moved around a lot as a kid and Salisbury is the first place we stayed at longer than a few years. I’ve come to know and love the place now.

There are plenty of shops around for you. Pretty much everything you need.

We have an amazing music scene. The Salisbury arts centre shows off top local talent and always has something on. The City Hall has bigger names on. We’ve had some big names pass through in the past.

The city is pretty too. The cathedral is amazing to look at, there are plenty of other churches and the river is nice too.

    Come visit us.

    It was a rainy day.

While I was carrying my heavy backpack looking for a place to stay, I passed by a church, where I witnessed a special wedding there, a military wedding. The couple was so beautiful together. And the swords and soilders, awww, it’s like those weddings in fairytales. So royal, so UK!

Best wishes to the groom and the bride.

Go there to sit on a bench and watch the sun set behind the cathedral. A truly amazing spiritual experience.
