Canterbury

I have lived in this city for 4 years and can say it is a truly amazing place full of history and culture. It is all the more enjoyable if you take the time to explore properly and see all the smaller unique shops and other things to do off of the main street :) I’m going to miss Canterbury a lot when I leave!

Find the fudge shop.
Even if you don’t like the ancient architecture, the lively/ quaint atmosphere (depending on location), the landscape or the little shops where you can find anything, the fudge will make your day.

I loved Canterbury, the Cathedral is stunning, the castle has a facinating history and the Abby is very interesting. Would higly recommend a day trip there.

P.S. If they still have the Fudge Shop there you should go to it! If you go to the entrance of the Cathedral and turn left and just go around that corner it should be there.

Generally a very nice place. Interesting architecture and history and the high street has a good range of shops. The nightlife is alright but there are very few clubs and none of them particularly good. There are plenty of pubs and bars in the area, however none them are anything particularly special, but there’s plenty which are perfectly nice.
One heads up is that Canterbury tends to be pretty busy throughout the year because of the high street and the Cathedral, also I think it’s a sort of stop off point for people from the continent take a coach fom Dover to London.
