Newbury

I’ve been living in Newbury just over a week now. The place seems alright. The rumors about it that I had heard were much worse than it’s turned out to be. It’s an old market town in the countryside in england, and it’s just as you expect. There are some quite picturesque parts of it, there’s lots of pubs, the bars and nightclubs are quite average, and everyone here seems to work for Vodafone. Food seems expensive, the Thai here is awful, I’m yet to try some fish n’ chips and a curry, but I’ll bet they’re good. I would like to spend more time here, I’ve met some good people, but I need to find a place to live more permanently, and it sadly won’t be Newbury.

I’ve lived in Newbury nearly all my life,even though it’s not the most amazing place in the world,it’s also not a bad place,there’s enough shops to cater for basic needs,good pubs etc,not too much crime,and most people are very nice.The canal is indeed a very pretty part of Newbury mixed with walks through Victoria Park.

Worked in Newbury for almost six months (take a guess who it was for… clue: they’re on the school’s playing field now.)

It was a deadly dull town, and the commute from London was a bitch, but you know, work is work and I met some nice folks in those parts, and the canal is pretty.

Ok, The place is ok if you visit every now and then. but if you live here it is the most boring place possible. The only good things are the roads out the place.

Nice town, with lovely walks along the canal and near enough to London if you really want to commute!
I lived there years ago, it is a lot busier now, but still a nice place to visit.
