    Not worth it!

...I was attending a friend’s wedding. While the wedding was absolutely amazing (picture of bride and groom included) the city of La Coruna was okay. It’s an interesting mix of Celtic and Spanish cultures and it is a seafront city, but compared to all Spain has to offer (Segovia, Barcelona, etc) I would recommend spending you Spanish holiday in those and other towns / cities.

A tip I have about this place  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I was born there and in Coruña is my favorite place in the world: Jardin de San Carlos. It’s a garden where John Moore, a British General, rests. It oversees the port and the Castillo de San Antón.

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

People tend to hit just the big cities in Spain and they are really missing out. I spent two weeks living in Sada, a coastal town just outside A Coruna, and spent many days and nights in the city itself as well. It is an amazing city. My trip to Madrid simply paled in comparison. It’s smaller, friendlier, and much safer-feeling. I absolutely loved it! And there’s nothing like strolling the city and then heading down to the beach at night with friends! (Although we were approached by some interesting characters while we were down there!) I can’t wait to return again someday! And I highly recommend exploring the surrounding area—smaller surrounding towns like Sada, as well as a trip out to Santiago Compostela.
Oh and drop by the acuarium, it’s small but fun and a nice addition to any day! And make sure to at least see the Torre de Hercules!

Possibly the greatest place in the world  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Certainly my favorite place in Spain. Very light on non-Spanish tourists, so bone up on your spanish. Stunningly beautiful, blue waters, great history. The best seafood I have ever had, and one of the most fun nights of my life. Great bars and clubs. Oh, and everyone there is beautiful.
