Fantastic Finale by Bruno Girin
Szczecin has been hosting the tall ships races since Friday evening. Sailing on Sorlandet, we were welcomed at the pilot station by the Norwegian anthem and lots of people waving us in harbour. Wow! The rest of the weekend has been equaly exceptional, with crowds and crowds of people coming to visit the ship. Everything is organised perfectly and we are having a great time. All this was punctuated yesterday by an amazing crew parade, with every one of us that was left on Sorlandet flying the ship’s and Norwegian flags and being damn proud of it, whatever our actual nationality. The outdoor amphitheatre where the parade finished and the prize giving ceremony was held was just perfect. Of course, the beautifully sunny weather did help a lot!
It will be hard to beat the atmosphere in Szczecin. Thank you for a fantastic finale to the races!
