Ingolstadt

Downtown Ingolstadt is so picturesque (sp?). It is surrounded by old walls and entrances, the streets are laid with cobblestone, and the shops have gorgeous facades…although these were added relatively recently. It’s small enough to get an easy feel for after just a few days, but still big enough to offer about 20 bars and English speaking bartenders ;) If you visit here, give yourself at least a week, and have yourself a doener kebab.

I lived in Ingolstadt for 4 months from July-October. I met so many great and friend people. The people are really friendly and easy to talk to. Most people here do speak English but it is the older crowd that you might have problems communicating with. And the whole city was beautiful. The center of the city was enclosed by walls and gates and the outside village type communities are all surrounding with their own specific names. I lived in Pettenhoffen which was a small community of around 50 houses. It is so neat too that all the little communities have their own fire house and church and some with their own soccer/football fields. Well, the one thing about the weather is mostly rainy, but I always seem to find myself living in places like that, IE. I am in SF, CA now in the USA. Rainy all the time. But eithery way, It is an awesome place. Good Food and many festivites. Always something to get involved in. Definately a place to visit and revisit.
