They have lots of handmade items that range in price but you can find some great ones for 5 euros. Also go and see the beautiful churches and cathedrals. I was only in the city for a day and I want to go back because it has a lot to offer. over 5 years agoUntitled by modagsI lived here for a year after finishing college — best year of my life. It’s a very cool university town that has both a hip-student-y vibe but is also very set in its ways as a provincial town. The saturday market is great; get the Bratfisch, which was always a favorite as we’d stagger around the market, hungover from drinking at the Destille the night before. And find Oma who gives you samples of cheese (if she’s still there). There’s also enough culture and history to keep you busy, if that’s your thing. For tourists I’d also recommend seeing the “Water Castles” that are in the surrounding countryside. It’s hard not to love this place.
