Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

In the time of the GDR (German Democratic Repubic) Chemitz was called “Karl-Marx”-Town, but despite a huge and collosol head-statue of Marx is there no relation. He never even was in Chemnitz! Just felt the world should know this.

...Well and despite I’m local-patriotically choose “worth visiting” I have to tell you some more stats. The people here have the shortest sex comparing to all other big German cities, so if you like quickies, come to Chemnitz – but… we also do laugh the very least time here, a study said only 3-4 minutes a day!!! But finally we have also some good things here: A lot of shopping malls (YES!), Entertainment for the elderly(OH NO!!!) and Boxing-events(Whoa,strong proletarians here!)

Facets of a Charming City

Chemnitz is an attractive city which pleases the eye. And though its charm is perhaps a bit austere, it becomes more apparent on second glimpse. There´s far more to the place than first meets the eye and this holds true whether you are a visitor or a long-time inhabitant, a tourist or local business person.

By making the effort to see Chemnitz as it really is, and not by just following the “official” sight-seeing paths, strangers and Chemnitz citizens alike can discover new facets to our city every day. We urge you to be inquisitive.
Create your own vision of Chemnitz from the images in these pages.

You´ll find Chemnitz´s charm evolves and becomes readily apparent.

But don´t just take our word, or even our “web”, for it: Come see for yourself!
