    Worth visiting!

I went to Germany for a month w/ my school and we overnighted in Dresden. Parts were really pretty, and had a great art museum, but I think I was a little disappointed. I hope I can go back though and stay for a little longer to get a better feel for the place.

Omg I love Dresden. I don’t remember how often I’ve been there but I just love the history of it and how you go from modern tower blocks to the Frauenkirche etc. It’s beautiful although they destroyed alot with putting the new roof on to the station. It just looks absolutely rubbish.

I traveled all over germany this last summer and Dresden was by far my favorite city to visit! It’s beautiful by night and day and i would spend at least 3 days there if I were you. Go visit it!

Beautiful places to walk, fascinating museums, an incredible flea market and ice cream vendors EVERYWHERE.

I love this city, I always did. The only thing that makes me angry are the prices in the restaurants around the sights (of course they are expensive, because the tourists don’t know where to go) EVERYBODY go to the Neustadt, plenty pubs and bars, everybody’s gonna find something and the prices are better there, but Dresden is an expensive place.

    Not worth it!

I say Dresden is not worth visiting not because it is actually not worth visiting—I think every place is worth visiting—but because it probably isn’t worth visiting given the time constraints of one’s trip. Dresden was spread out and had few noteworthy attractions. I remember a wonderful Raphael painting in an otherwise dull art museum, a pretty river, a fantastic outdoor food market, and little else. Dresden seemed like a good place to live—visually nice, very peaceful—but not so much to visit. If you have lots of time though, it’s not a bad stop on the train between Berlin and Prague.

If you’ve even been to this place, then you must have been to the really beautiful church named as ‘Frauenkirche’. With its golden elements it’s looks very good. It’s good to travel to Dresden!

...you’d be hard pressed to find another town like this one. A former DDR city that has finally come of age now that the wall has come down. If you like museums or porcelan, this and it’s surrounding towns have a lot to offer.

It was wonderful to see how Dresden’s history has been rebuilt and preserved after the destruction of WWII. The art gallery at the Zwinger is world-class. The porcelain museum equally so.

The concentration of imperial buildings along the river Elbe such as the Hofkirche, Frauenkirche, Zwinger, Palace and Semper Oper Haus is an impressive sight.

I feel a link with the city destroyed in flames, that has risen phoenix-like. A tribute to the human spirit.
