Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Beautiful city of stone and slate, home to both ancient and modern tapestries of the Apocalypse, an 11th century castle, a 13th century cathedral, two universities, lots of irish pubs, beautiful gardens, and the Cointreau museum/plant. How can you go wrong? I studied here for a year in college and it was amazing. Check it out!

Noted for its pure and smooth French  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I lived here for a semester a few years ago. It is a beautiful, peaceful town with lots to see. The castle is nice (although I was surprised there wasn’t more castle inside the castle), but in it is their famous tapestry:

“The castle of Angers houses a tapestry museum that includes the famous Apocalypse series of Nicholas Bataille who did the weaving and Hennequin de Bruges did the painting. It is 140 meters long and is the biggest tapestry in the World.”

I suggest visiting there- the French is very pure and beautiful. Make sure to walk along the river and check out the local parks. I went to l’Universite Catholique de l’Ouest, if anyone wants to know more about that school.

How this place changed my life  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Oh, the tapestries, the disco, the Centre Ville with the crazy shoe stores, the castle, the long walks, the long drinks (a meter, as a matter of fact), the lack of freakish over-advertising…
