my home by jfjade

Graz is the place I grew up – my home city.

Graz not as big as Austria’s capital, Vienna, which helps to retained it’s certain charm and flair. Situated in the southern regions of Austria, between cosy hills and green riverlands, Graz provides Mediterranean climate. During wintertime, the city is in no danger of avalanches, snow storms or sub-freezing. Still, the White Brightness allows ice-skating, sledding and long romantic winterwalks. And when the first sunlight illuminatese the historical places, we can’t wait to sit down at the little cafés and socialise. Or to step out into Graz’ local recreation area.

Along both riversides of the “Mur” you’ll find ancient places, renowned galleries, modern architectur, historical buildings (listed of World Cultural Heritage Sites), exceptional numberous green spots and soooo much more. 2003, Graz became the “European Capital of Culture”.

BTW: The inhabitants are said to have lesser accent then other Austrians. Meaning not, we are easier to understand than our neighbours in Northern Germany.

Graz is an excellent place to study (6 Univerities!)!! Students make out most of the population – well, during semesters. >>> Thus, you’ll find a good quantity of evening entertainment: cosy coffe houses, good bars, trendy clubs (Graz is handled ad insider tip for upcoming DJs and VJs!), legendary student parties(highly recommended!!) as well as concert places hosting reginal and international live-acts.

Allthough I must leave soon to advance in one’s job or position, I’ll come back to start a family in the years to come.

I lived here for a year as an exchange student, loved it…

There are probably more exciting cities in Europe, but it’s a great place to live, people are friendly, easy to get around and enough things to do. Want to go back one day!
