I have to say, and I am sorry if I sound like betraying my fellow centralamerican people, the only two reasons why I would ever go to San Salvador are: food and some relatives. I can’t argue this, relatives end up there and, for some reason that now I don’t want to deepen in, I most visit. The other alternative set of two reasons: food and the beach (of course this requires some extra traveling time). And then again, is not like there aren’t other places where you can get good and cheap food and great and lonely cool beaches; San Salvador is close to Guatemala City, what else can I say?

Why I want to go to this place  — 2 years ago

El Salvador, especially San Salvador, has been a fascination with me for years. I admire the martyrs – Oscar Romero, Rutilio Grande, the four American churchwomen – and would love to see the memorials built for them and their tombs. For me, it would be a pilgrimage of sorts.

    orphanage  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

while in San Salvador I stayed at an orphanage called HIS. It was lovely. The children were beautiful and sweet, the staff wonderful and friendly, the place was just brimming with God’s goodness.
If you’re ever there, make an effort to stop by and see my kiddios.
