Dinosaur Park

We used to hang out up here when I was a teenager. My friend would tell the tourists that his grandfather built the concrete dinosaurs because everyone called him “Dino Tony.” I’m pretty sure no one believed us, but the view of Rapid City is beautiful, especially at sunset. Skyline drive is definitely a scenic route worth taking.

was when I was a kid. Probably 2 or 3. We went every year until I was a senior in high school. Corny as it is, I loved it. My daughter is really into dinosaurs now, and dreams of becoming a paleontologist. Imagine her delight the first time I took her here! Unfortunately, I don’t even live in SD anymore, so it’s been years since I’ve been back to Rapid City. But this is one of my must-see stops every time I go back!
