Good swimming at the YMCA. If u fancy Egg & Chips visit Chrisburger….details in Lonely Planet.
Nice small town…bit ‘interesting’ at night so we stayed in!
Good market, bus hire and busses available at the ‘bus station’ – bartering essential here. Armed guard outside our accommodation (cant remember its name sorry, but on same side as the Mosque just a bit further west). Rooms good and clean with shower etc.. Hotel proved to have a good resturaunt but appeared to change into a brothel later on in the evening!!
Best place to set off for Kilimanjaro climb.

This is a quiet town on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. I stayed at a hotel called Parkview Inn(http://www.pvim.com) for 3 days and it was a great experience. The town itself is safe though the night life is not great. During the daytime spend time visiting the market and old slave prison among other things.
