Lewes

i love lewes, appart from when my purse was nicked from my bag last year. still that can happen anywhere and i’m not the most together and security conscious of folks!! I love MAYSGENERALSTORE. which just sells stuff that is me. even better the ladies that work and also own the shop are fab. I am unemployed (well except as a mum of a 9 yr old and a 3 yr old) but my partner is also, unfortunately unemployed at present. anyway’s like alot of folk we are permanently skint. but i can go into mays gen store and see something i like and they’ll save it for me until i can afford it. Lewes has a great vibe and just makes me smile inside. Also there’s a fab pub (needless to say i can’t remember the name cos it’s so long since we could afford to go to a pub). But if we could its a great family pub and you tend to get chatting to some great people. Lewes has a thriving art/bohemian scene. like brighton but much more villagy. i always come home (to heathfield) inspired to start some new art project or with fresh impetus for an existing one. Loving it!!

Guy Fawkes night was obviously a crazy time, but Lewes on any other day is still a cool place to check out. Very quaint village. Lunch will cost you a pretty penny, though.
