I went on a cruise over the summer to Turkey, Italy, and Greece, and, let me just tell you, the most beautiful place I went on all of my trip was Turkey. The countryside is to die for, and the landscapes are beautiful. I was completely surprised at how much I enjoyed Turkey, considering all my excitement was mainly reserved for the all-talked about Italy and Greece. But I’m telling you, if you travel to Turkey, you will not be disappointed. The people are great, the food is great, the atmosphere is great; I would go back in a heartbeat.
If you are in Turkey during April, perhaps for ANZAC commemorations, then be sure to see the gorgeous planter boxes full of tulips. These can be found outside the Spice Bazaar in Sultanahmet district, near to the bridge.
I was told by my friend that tulips originated in Turkey and were sent to Holland. Is this true?! Or was it a sales story… :)
Istanbul changed my life in many ways, I wish I could share all of them.
one of them was listening the ezan calling during 3 months: Somehow it tamed me and made my sadness to go away. I miss it everyday, as I miss the Kadiköy Iskelesi, the green bus and the streets around, the sunsets over the Bosphorus, the sound of the sea!
You cant die without visiting Istanbul at least once!
