Write an entry Entries about this placeLovely and relaxed by AnnemaartI loved Munchen. Not only is it very pretty and are there nice museums and lots of shops to waste that well earned money. Also there are lovely parks where you can slouch on the grass or dip your feet in the pond. I especially enjoyed this since I was previously in Vienna, which is also lovely but where the grass in parks is mostly meant to be looked at from a bench on the gravel path. Munchen for some reason gave me a vide from Haarlem, which is where I live and which has the same sort of big city without the hectic of the big city feel. over 2 years agoUntitled by culture_constructGorgeous, gorgeous city. Public transport is good, the sites to see are better, but the food is the best ! Untitled by eipi10Seemed like one of the great cities of the world, but not a premier tourist destination. It was a bit too sprawling, and I didn’t see enough major sites of interest to put Munich in the same league as Paris, Venice, Rome, and Amsterdam. But I would love to live there. over 4 years agoUntitled by EmilyIf you only have one day in Munich, like I did, try a New Munich Free Tour. The guides are well trained and entertaining. The tour lasts about three hours and gives you historical background to the places you visit. It’s a little heavy on the history of the Third Reich, but there’s a stop at Hofbräuhaus and the Viktualienmarkt, plus a great legend about the devil and a pair of Birkenstocks, so it’s not too dark. over 4 years agoSee all 169 entries |
