    Worth visiting!

I was in Kigali with my friends Luca and Luca, what a tense and beautiful place. I feel great respect for all those in Rwanda who have the strength to show compassion to one another.

Fantastic, fun little city, that I would recommend to anyone looking for a trip to Africa. Also seemed like it would be a fine place to work, if you’re up for that kind of thing. I will say that I liked the rest of Rwanda much more than the capital, however.

I am here in Kigali, Rwanda with my boyfried who is here for work. It’s a pleasant town, very safe (I am coming from Nairobi where it’s not the safest of places.) While it is pleasant, there is not much to do and the town itself is very small. That being said, there is a small resort town on the shores of Lake Kivu, which is about a 2 hour drive from Kigali. South is a small town called Butare which has the National Museum of Rwanda, which we went to yesterday. It was very interesting and I would recommend the journey south. The gorilla trekking up north is reportedly amazing, but we don’t have time for it this trip. And I am told there is a museum of the genocide, which I haven’t visited yet.

I rated Kigali as ‘worth seeing’ as I believe everything is worth seeing once. It’s a decent stopover on the way to somewhere else.

Let me tell you – this is not the place where you want your suitcase to be lost by the airlines. For five days. I didn’t have a very good time there, but I was only there for a week, and I was working most of the time. I can’t say that it’s very high on my list of places I’d like to go back to, but I’d go if I had the chance to get out and do something.
