    Worth visiting!

I was a last year student, being sent on a banking internship. Though the time was harsh in 1998 (I remember being stopped on streets and people asking me where I came from as a blonde European), I would love to retrieve some of the people who helped me out, sense the carribean flavors & relaxed attitude and visit some of the perfect sites like bocas del toro.

    Worth visiting!

I visited my second home in Panama this July and stayed in the city until mid August. Panama has always been a treat to visit since it is my homeland and the land of my family.
Panama has its ups and downs though like any country in the world does.
Taxis are a hassle sometimes for travelers as most (not all) take advantage and charge foreigners extra. The “Red Devils”, as they’re nicknamed, cost only 25 cents to ride and their routes are all over the city. But unfortunately its packed, and doesn’t offer air conditioning.

Panama, however, has so many places to visit and me being an ethusiast for photography, knows that it provides many an interesting subject to photograph. For example, Casco Viejo, Panama Viejo, Cosway are all great places to visit.

I enjoyed my time there with family and friends.
If anybody gets a chance to visit, I reccomend going on a chiva. Especially the Chiva Fiestas Panama. They are fun for large groups and to see the sights of Panama while partying like a true Panamian! :D

I was skeptical, amongst the polution of Panama City, if you drive along Balboa Ave. long enough you get a basic idea of the lay out. Most the avenues are named after a latin american country, Mine was Peru Ave. It did take some time to warm up to the area, but once i was involved with the locals, i never had such fun with the night life anywhere else. The many Casinos double as concerts also. The local clubs are fun, the dancing culture is so in depth that once a club runs out of room to dance, people move on to the kitchens and bathrooms to dance. While different, it was still a great experience.

I spent 2 months in Panama teaching music. The people are warm & friendly, the scenery is spectacular, and oh, the dancing!

well the last time i went to panama i went with a few friends from skool and we stayed at the costa del sol holtel which was quite affordable and the locsation was also quite ok with quite a bit of nice scenery and the people there are very friendly i went for a tour of the panama canal and i also a tour of some parts of the panama jungle also we went to some of the old slave ruins and old ancient sanctuaries the city has two parts the american side and the panamanian side which is seperated by the bridge of the americas. Panama has a very big history which i have studied for some while i think its a very nice place to visit and i will go back someday.

Summer of 2006. Didn’t see too much of the entire city, which is why I want to go again. (Stayed in Rio Chagres, and then Bocas del Toro for the majority of my stay in Panama.)

    Not worth it!

It’s not that I don’t recommend this place.. it’s just that I was stopping by briefly on route between Atlanta and Santa Cruz, Bolivia.. I only saw it for an hour during the middle of the night. I was sleepy and just interested in finding the bathrooms. I stopped here both on the way to, and the way back from Bolivia.

    Worth visiting!

Personally…..I didn’t find Panama City all that great. I rated it “as worth it” just because I know some people might like the stuff there – specifically the canal. However, Panama has other places that are so much better. Think outside the box – please go outside of Panama City.

Haha. Seriously, not my favorite place. Horrible traffic.
Panama has much much nicer places.

Very interesting place. Been there only for a couple of days, but I can say that the sights are beautiful and there’s plenty to do. The Canal only is worth the visit.
