To be honest, I didn’t have a lot of expectations before coming to Dublin. It wasn’t somewhere I’d heard much about, minus the crazy stereotypes. However, as soon as I landed in this fair city, I fell completely head-over-heels in love. The people are absolutely LOVELY. I have never met friendlier or more pleasant people in my entire life! The city itself is also comfortable in its familiarity but quite extraordinary in its own unique beauty. I had an amazing time and I look forward to going back in the future!
The people of Dublin are amazing! I would definately recommend the Musical Pub Crawl. Use the DART to see Howth. We fed some sea lions there. Dumfy (don’t think I spelled this right) Castle along the way. Just a great place to have a pint and listen to great music. It kind of reminded me of my home town of New Orleans in that way.
Heck, I live here now! There’s no leprechauns or 4 leaf clovers! It’s always raining, people here love their drink, and the hills ARE 40 shades of green! Come visit!
There’s a joke about how Irish people are always talking about the weather. 2 months down the line, I guess I’m just one of them. If snow is falling for 2 days, the 3rd day it’ll be raining with wind and no snow. If it’s sunny in the morning, it’s raining in the evening. If it’s raining in the morning. it’s windy in the evening. You just never know with this city. But spins of weather kept aside, Dublin is a lot of fun if you have somebody to share the experience walking down the lovely roads here. If not, just plug in your earphones, get your coat and just go by yourself. You won’t be left unamazed ever. Europe is known for the fashion sense of its people and so is the case here. People are just so beautiful. And helpful too. Definitely worth going!
“I'm trying to plan a really low-budget trip to Dublin from Boston. Airfare and hostel prices aside, how much money should I plan to spend per meal and on incidentals? Basically, is it more or less expensive on average than the US?”
