Maputo

I loved Maputo! It was great! All of us forein young people and locals too, had the best time I could have ever imagined! We went to the beach all the time, danced in night clubs, swam at the Hotel Polana, went to Mirador, went to Buzio, attended International school for a while then went to boarding school in Swaziland (Waterford), rode our scooters around all over, it was awsome! The food is the best in the world! I love Mozambique and I would love to go back soon. I left there in 1992 and now it is 2007, so I long for the day that I can return. Being an American and living in the U.S. doesen’t compare to living in Africa, I would trade my life here in a second to go live in Maputo again!!!! I miss it. I have heard it has changed alot since the was is over, but I bet I would still love it there!

I went there on a business trip and did not get to see or experience much of culture and people. Except the fact that I spoke more fluent Portuguese than some local who had slight accent from native dialects. There are group Indian immigrants, small Korean immigrants, and Chinese Immigrants. All the Portuguese colonizers are gone, I was told they took even nuts and bolts with them, leaving the country stripped down bare. The politics are stable and the economy is growing steadily. Great going!!
