Minas Gerais aka: MG

Minas Gerais is my home state. There are countless nice places to go: huge lakes such as Furnas, caves such as Maquine, historic cities such as Ouro Preto and Tiradentes, waters such as São Lourenço and Caxambu… waterfalls (lots of them), mountains to climb, plains to run through. Minas has it all.

I imagine it is awesome, and I know the NT conference will be awesome.

But our focus is now more on theoretical physics than experimental nanotubes, so we are not planning on the conference this year.

This past year’s conference in Japan was so awesome, I want more!

I travelled around here for a week or so with my friend’s family. We went to Belo Horitonze, Ouro Preto, Tiradentes, Congonhas, Mariana and spent Christmas in a place called Ponte Nova. That was an interesting cultural experience for me – we had this pig on a spit where for the first time I ate pig’s ear. We celebrated christmas on christmas eve instead of christmas day (when we celebrate it back home).

The old churches and rolling hills were very pretty.

now i know the difference between a hotel and a motel.
