Worth visiting!
Northern Texas
I didn’t know what to expect when I got to Texas. So, I was pleasantly surprised when it lived up to its hype. That hype being: BIG! I continued on US60, and spent the night in Canadian, Texas at a brand new Best Western. I ate at the brand new Pizza Hut across the street, and became a member of the bar next door (dry county). Everyone was friendly. I moved on to Amarillo, where I eventually got back on US64. I loved seeing the awesome land scapes and oil rigs.
Please, however, take it slow and keep your eyes on the road. I almost caused an accident when I got caught up in the scenery. When I looked back, I was on a head on course for disaster with a black Chevy. Luckily we missed each other. I spun out across both lanes of traffic. The other driver got out, and checked to make sure I was okay. Very friendly. I still feel bad about what happened, but am very thankful that nothing serious came of it….

Worth visiting!
I was just passing through
I drove from New Orleans to just outside of El Paso in one day, so don’t mind me.. I didn’t visit, though I did get an oil change in El Paso! Haha. The terrain was nothing like I’d imagined and the cities I passed seemed clean and compact. I bought a cowboy hat and said “yeehaw” and meant it! Though now I realize there are more cowboys in Montana haha. Oh well, Texas was worth it.
