Was for my cousin Heather’s wedding. We stayed in Boise but went to the national forest for the service. what a beautiful place. I have childhood memories of floating the Payette with my uncle as a small boy, but it has ben years since I had been there. It is a growing community, with a small town feel. I love Boise.

I went in October and mainly visited the Boise area. The birds of prey, normally there in large numbers, are elsewhere in October.

I was in Meridian for my friend’s wedding. Before flying out of Boise to go home, i stopped at Donnie Mac’s Trailer Park Cuisine.
It was pretty tasty food but the best part was being served our food in a gutted VW Bug with a table inside. Fantastic! The lunch menu offers mac & cheese with cut up hotdogs. I was there for breakfast and order the Poptart (Market price).
so unique and quirky! I loved it!

Idaho is America’s best kept secret. Despite Senator Larry Craig and his restroom adventures, the state is great.
I did some archeology survey work near Boise in 1995, which was a great experience. We found several Native American artifacts, mainly lithic scatters, worked rock, and some projectile points. We also found a lot of frontier era artifacts (too much cool stuff to list).
In high school (way back in the day) we used to drive from Logan up to Preston to buy beer. At the time 19 year olds were legal, and living only 20 miles or so from the border … well, you get the picture.
As a Boy Scout we camped out at City of Rocks, a big “rock forest” that offers easy climbs and even easier rappelling. I also searched for some rumored buried stagecoach treasure, but didn’t find any (sadness).
Idaho has a lot to offer. Check it out.

I wasn’t in Idaho for long just dropped in with a friend. Didn’t see much either so I would love to go back and see what the fuss is about.

“If I were coming to Idaho, what one thing should I make sure I see, or what one place should I eat at?”
