Rocky Mountain NP isn’t too crowded and has some great day hikes and backpacking. I’d love to go back in the winter and go skiing. I first stepped foot into Colorado when I visited the four corners. Then I drove on what used to be US666, but is now US491. Found that out by comparing an older atlas with a new one. The time I spent there was breath taking, but the sign ironically named Colorado as a “colorful state”, but the sign was brown as were the surroundings. I’m sure there are more colorful places in the state, but the simple irony of the sign made me smile. As I drove, I got on US191 and headed toward Utah. Drivers were friendly and courteous. I definitely want to go back.
