I haven’t been there in about 8 years and probably won’t go back any time soon. My parents are from Jalpa, which is (or was, anyway) a relatively large town. We’d always (the three times we visited) visit during Christmas time, and it was great. There is a tradition of climbing/hiking up a mountain in Mid-December, which we’d always do. While it didn’t have much by way of luxuries, it’s a place I will always remember as a wonderful place full of family and great memories.

Zacatecas is not one of the most famous touristic town in Mexico, but still worth taking your time to immerse yourself in real Mexican culture. It’s totally safe (you can walk around on your own even after midnight), people are friendlier.

I lived in Zacatecas for a month and returned over spring break this past march. I love Zacatecas so much.. the people are wonderful and it’s so safe.. the safest state of mexico in fact. i have so many wonderful memories there that i will never forget..

I had the opportunity to visit a museum where was shown an exposition of Miró´s originals, the city is clearly awesome, I fall in love immediatly.

It didn’t matter that I could only halfway speak the language. This place is amazing. I’ve been there 6 or 7 times now. I hope I can return at some point. Def. worth the visit. The landscape is gorgeous as well as the cathedrals and the rest of the pueblos.

it was a good trip. mostly remember the open markets and touristy areas. beautiful country.
