the roses and honeysuckles’ smells rise up in the air
the leaves of long sycamores move slightly
As the love-smelt breeze blows gently
In my beloved city Bursa;

From the Yesil to the Emirsultan is a narrow path
reaches over to the picturesque mosque,
situated on a scenic hill
in my beloved city Bursa;

Green mosque is the shrine of the Muslims
With green tiles and harmonious atmosphere
Azans resounds from its minarets
in my beloved city Bursa.

Mt. Uludag reaches to the wonderful skies
just like an uniquely picture of the paradise
reminds me of the Ottomans ,Byzantines and Bithynian’s
in my beloved city Bursa .

The Christians and the Muslims and the Jews
Lived brotherly together for centuries
With great quintessence of peace
That had been the capital of
the various civilizations
is Saints’ city Bursa …

For some reason I know I should go there…

I absolutely love Bursa!! Everything is so beautiful, there is so much history and culture there! I spent a month in Turkey and about 3 weeks of it I was in Bursa. The people are so welcoming and friendly. And the historical sights are a must see! The mosques are beautiful, Ulucami is so fantastic. When you go inside the detailed ceilings and walls and everything is so gorgeous…the hangings, the history, the fountain…so beautiful. Going into Ulucami is seriously one of those experiences that I would classify as life-changing. One of my other favorite things in Bursa is the Bazaar, so many things…its so interesting. And I got some great buys there! SO many other places to see in Bursa, but those were my two favorites!

I love this city, and if I would be in Turkey, the second place I would spend my time will be:

Gemlik, Görükle, Altıparmak caddesi, Yeşil, Uludağ, Nilüfer, Yalova yolu, Kafkas Kestanesi, vs nice isimlerini unuttuğum o güzelim sokaklar ve yerler… Seni seviyorum Bursa! Ne kadar Bursa’lı erekekler ‘meşhur’ olsada…

Tabi ki o meşhur abimizin hazırladığı İskender var ya… Bir de Ziya sofrası olsa şimdi, ehhh.

Tabi ki hiç unutmadığım bir Lahmacun yapan abimiz var dı(malesef detayşar aklımda değil, ama ayaklar ve gözler yerini o kadar iyi biliyor ki) bütün özbeklerin sırayla gittiği… Adam’ın sofrasını mutlaka ziyaret edeceğim…
