Worth the tortuous journey by geoveo

Worth the tortuous journey if you are ever lucky enough to get the chance to go there.

It’s over 20 years since I went there over the terrifying mountain switchback roads, yet I can remember almost every seat gripping mile from Jammu to Srinagar. The arrival thought the willow tree lined avenue, the shikara taxis to the houseboat that we stayed in on Lake Dal. This is another place that I’m so glad I had the opportunity to visit before politics and war took over.

A place with a similar watery feel is Xochimilco, Mexico city.

It is said (by about 5 people I know who have personally trvaled EVERYWHERE) that Kashmir is more beautiful then Europe, New Zealand, and South America combined. I’ve been to India, and as a person born and raised in the ‘west’. From the lush green North to the Desert in the west. It was mind-blowing. I can’t wait to travel to Indo AND Pak Kashmir some day. May the L.O.C burn in hell!!
