It causes dejection and failure to appreciate other places sufficiently. There’s only one cure – to go again as I am doing this summer. Is this a story? Certainly, as far as I know, the ailment is not officially recognised – but it’s a true story as far as I’m concerned. over 6 years agoUntitled by atypicalpenI have been to the Highlands before and it the best UK holiday I have had. It is real wilderness and full of beauty and wonder. We based ourselves in Ullapool and got as far north as Scourie. The Summer Isles were a highlight of the trip. We now have a campervan and plan to explore some of the more out-of-the-way spots….. over 6 years agoMy experience in the Highlands is nowhere near extensive by NedRaggettDidn’t get much further north than Inverness, I should note, in the two times I have been there. But it is lovely, rugged country, and being there makes you aware both of the power it’s always had and the sorrows on the land over the years as well.
