Zeeland has the distinction of being a relatively difficult province to access. There is only one rail line running through it. Although there are roads, you have to cross a lot of long bridges to get just about anywhere.
All of this has had the effect of protecting the area from a lot of outside influences. I think that this area for the most part has retained a lot of its traditional Dutch culture, which appears to be slowly eroding away in some other parts of the country.over 6 years ago
