Worth visiting!
Utrecht felt to me like a college-town extension of Amsterdam. It’s a lovely little town of canals, bridges, old churches, eclectic (though not necessarily great) restaurants, and coffee shops (in the Amsterdam sense). It’s also nice to take a bike and ride out into the green pastures, which are just out of town. However, it’s more a place to go to school than a place to see.

Not worth it!
Nice little University town, lived there for 1.5 years but too damned cold in the winter.

I went with a group of international students from the university. We did a boat canal tour, climbed the Dom Church (all 460 steps, but it’s SO worth it for the view), poked around the kiosks and shops and then had a lovely dinner.
The city’s vibe is that of a big city but different from Amsterdam’s vibe in my opinion. It’s very charming and now that I know what Utrecht has to offer, I’m definitely going to return.

Hing Kee just an ordinary chinese take away. What is extraordinary is they serve the best peking duck and red pork meat. Their rice is great. So if you have no time to cook for your guest…take your bike and go to Hing Kee…believe me…it is good!

A favorite Indische (old Indonesia term) restaurant of my husband. I, myself prefer Dayang Resto at Den Haag as my favorite. However I should admit that Blauw resto’s nasi kuning rocks!!!
You can find it near Springhaver Bioscoop Utrecht.
Have fun!!!

I love this town. I love how small it is, I love the people, and I love walking along the Oudegracht.

Utrecht was beautiful, everybody was very nice. The canals are beautiful and there are a lot of cafes right on the water. Lots of museums, too. It had a lot of the beauty and charm that Amsterdam has, but not so many drug dealers or tacky tourist shops.
