Go to universum. Little bit expensive but really a perfect science museum.

Rent a bicycle! It’s the easiest and most scenic way to get around. Rentals available (and English speakers) next to the Hauptbahnof (to the left of it if you’re facing it).

Because it’s my hometown and it’s one of the nicest cities in Germany! Should be on your list when you travel through Germany, especially if you like old (and I mean really old) city centers. But Bremen has also everything you need to enjoy life: restaurants, shopping abilitys and a great night and culture life.

I once almost married a boy from Bremen.

Consequently, I visited often: three times in as many years. Long visits, too. Fun little restaurants at the Schlachte and Turkish take-out in the park or outside the Hauptbanhof (that’s the main train station for you non-German-speakers). The science museum and the planetarium. The greenery. Bremerhaven. I never got bored. I never wanted to leave. I wanted to move there.

I do not know, now. If Bremen weren’t as lovely as it is, would I have agreed to my ex-beau’s proposal? We’ll never know.

A beautiful German city. I lived and worked here for 6 months and it was one of the most amazing and enjoyable experiences of my life!

Top 5 things to do:

- see the Cathedral basement/celler museum

- take the Beck’s brewery tour

- have a traditional North-German meal at the town’s ‘Ratskeller’

- take a walk along the ‘Am Wall’

- ride on the ‘Strassenbahn’ (tram) network
