Le Puy-en-Velay is just amazing and beautiful. Green is everywhere, so peaceful. And a lot of castles, you can even sleep in a castle.

Cows, cheese, cows, mountains, cows. So beautiful.

This is one of the most ignored areas of France and one of the most beautiful! My family have a house over there in a tiny little hamlet an hour’s drive from Clermont and I never get tired of going there. You can hike, sail, swim, climb, canoe etc. in summer and then ski/board, skate etc. in winter. This area was also a hotspot for the Resistance during WW2, so anyone interested in history ought to come here. Definately worth a visit!
