Kuopio

Kuopio’s cute. I stayed up at http://www.rauhalahti.com/, which is quite a way out of the city, but a great place to stay. The hostelroom was basically a room in a bungalow, with one other room which wasn’t occupied when we were there. We had a kitchen and everything. Every morning I got up and went for a swim in the swimming pool. Great way to wake up. Kuopio itself is tiny but cute. Liked the cemetery a lot (I have a thing for those) and we took a day trip to Valaam Monestary, which was great.

I went to a ski jumping competition. Athough it snowed really heavily it was great because Janne Ahonen won so I could actually witness Finnish way of expressing emotions, I mean their capability of doing it:D Hyvää Janne, hyvää – they were praising him :) Then I went to after ski party, during which Matti Nykänen was singing and looking into my eyes all the time, I don’t know why:P Hopefully he doesn’t want to kill me :D

But always willing to move back in, great place with very funny lingo

I’m still here, actually :) Too bad my only choices are ‘I want to go’ and ‘I’ve been’, in this connected world ‘I am here’ should be the third option :P

Anyhow, again with the work travel, so a lot of hotels, airports, offices, bars. Even so, the colleagues took me out last night and we painted the town red. I am still nursing a killer hangover.

It looks like a lovely place to visit in summer, and it’s going into my wishlist.

The Finnish people can seem a bit cold and distant at first, but they’re really friendly. Stubborn, maybe, but definitely friendly :P

It was allright , but when we wanted to exchange some traveller cheques in there we couldn”t find any place to do that,,,,,even the Big stores like SOKOS had not that service….Yeah but ROSSO Italian Restaurant was nice…Nice food…
