Bavaria is a Statue! by rangutan

The Bavaria statue overlooking Theresienwiesse where the Oktoberfest is held in Munich represents the patron and symbol of the Bavarian state. It was finished in 1850 and is part of the ‘Ruhmeshalle’, a monument to famous Bavarians. visitors can climb up inside the hollow bronz cast to peek out the eyes. This statue was used as a model and method by the French for the Statue of Liberty! (My own photography, also at globosapiens.net)
