my home  — 4 weeks ago

    Worth visiting!

this is where i was born, its my home. my childhood memories will always remain with me and i would NEVER let go of the amazing experiences i have had during those years. i love my mother country. it is where my family is from, it’s my native tongue, its my flag, my open and vast blue skies with fields of crops surrounding, it is the land in which my aunt rests and it is forever in my heart.

i don’t know if its a tourist destination, but its definitely a beautiful piece of land….if you enjoy nature this is absolutely ideal

My country...  — 8 months ago

    Worth visiting!

Well I was born in Ukraine, Europe. Until 7, i lived there, leading a tough life with my mom and brother. My grandmother was already in the USA and my dad was always away. Anyway, my mom didn’t get paid enough for her job and was always at work. My brother and I stuggled to have a normal life, having almost no money or food. When I was 7 years old we all moved to the USA, and now we are able to live the life we want, with some exceptions. I still go back there in summers and I love it. I wouldn’t live there permanently, but for the summer it’s a nice vacation. Most of all, as I bet many of you would agree, I like Ukrainian boys. ;DD

The first time I went to this place  — 10 months ago

was in the summer. I was in Lviv and the impression was incredible. This city is really beautiful with all its unrenovated buildings. But what I was fascinated with were the people. I chatted with the people, I’ve just met for the first time, and we talked as if we were friends, we were the same nationality ;) I even didn’t need to speak Ukrainian, Russish or English, I speak Polish and we greatly understood each other. In the next summer I would like to spend more time in Ukraine, but I’m curious to know sth about language. I’ve heard that in western Ukraine people are not delighted when you speak Russish. Is it the truth?

I just got back from a month in Kyiv.
It was my first time out of the United States, so as you can imagine, I had no idea what to expect.
    My assessment?
Ukraine is worth a month of your time. ^^
I didn’t experience much culture shock, thankfully, though it was a little different. The whole city had no hot water for almost three weeks, and I walked my legs off, but it was pretty amazing.
The people didn’t seem as happy or friendly, but…you learn to get used to it.
I imagine some knowledge of Russian is helpful, however. :]

I met my fiancee in Vinnitsa(Vinnitsya) Ukraine. I’ve been there 4 times in the last 10 months. Kiev is wonderful too, but quite expensive. Driving/riding is an experience I will never forget! It seems like chaos. The women are incredible, and they are everywhere. They always let you know the truth, unbelievably refreshing.

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

There are few places in Europe that are not crowded with tourists but are worth to see, Kiev is definitely one of them. This old city is overflowing with history and beauty, I highly recommend it. Most people are friendly and although it may take a little while to figure out how to get around, it will be worth your while.
