Finland

After a weekend in Riga, Latvia and Tallinn, Estonia, we took the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki to catch a flight back to Germany.

Helsinki was just okay. Too many cars, and the entire downtown reeked of sewage. (We walked a good few miles and did not escape this scent. No, it was not us!)

There is a farmer’s market along the waterfront where we got some cute jewelry trinkets and ate reindeer and crepes. We stopped by Molly Malone’s pub closer to downtown and saw some awful dancing children in traditional garb. Very crowded, too many cars, likely a hip place to live but it couldn’t hold a candle to the fantastic time we had wandering the cobblestone streets of Latvia and Estonia.

The airport would be okay if it was twice as large. Not a seat to be found anywhere, and this was a Monday around dinner time, which is not typically peak time.

Overall I’m glad I can check Finland off the list of countries I’ve visited, but I’d be just fine if I never went again.

Because I love Sauna and where else in the world if not Finland!

I have friends here and Im starting to like winter more than what I used to, thanks to last years trip to Europe, hope to onde day visit…

Finland is a lovely country.
Yes, it is boring and people are reserved and quiet, but it is also clean, safe and beautiful. The cities have nothing special to see and are not particularly impressive, because the beauty of the country is its nature. Everything is covered with forests and the air is pure. People are honest and friendly and studying there was the best decision I made, as felt home and made many friends for life.

Lakes, vodka and northern lights

ever since isaw the dudesons i’ve been obsesseed with the place, stuff visting i want to live there…..i wanna see the midnight sun!

The best thing about Finland are sunrises at 10 a.m. and sunsets at 2p.m. :)

Dezember about two years ago. Visited friends. Was a cool place. And the rumours about every girl is blonde and pretty are true :). I was excited about seeing a lot of snow..but there was not more than at home..:(.

I’m not exactly sure how I became interested in Finland – and I’m not quite sure why.
But… there is definetly a lot of natural beauty about.
It seems such a relaxing place to be if you’re in the countryside.
It seems to have an interesting culture (but so does most of Northern Europe, that’s why I’m drawn to those countries I think).
Oh, and the music scene is amazing of course.
