Don’t think, just go! Find a remote island, and enjoy life. If you can afford it, it will be worth it.

I spent 15 days here last summer. I was in Male, Sun Island (resort), and Paradise Island (resort).

Visited Male for 2 weeks. Perfect place for total relaxation and sun absorbtion. Plenty of islands to choose from, just do your research – we ended up on a honeymoon special and we’d only been together for a couple months!

I think white sandy beaches sparkling in the sun alongside crystal clear lagoons would be an idyllic place to spend a perfect holiday…

If you are considering going to a life altering place, think about the Maldives. Not only is the enviornment here beautiful, it also makes you value nature more.
The Maldives are breath taking, with generous people, and a chronic trash problem. All of the tourist islands are kept pristine, while many of the native islands struggle with tourist trash.
Personally I would suggest not going here if you have small children, particularly those in diapers. Some people (myself included) even take their own trash back home to dispose of.
If you have the option go on a snorkeling safari and check things out and you will be totally amazed at this intricate ecosystem. Tread lightly and be aware you are entering their world!

...why wouldn’t you want to go?!...
I am leaving on Sunday for my trip & I cannot wait. I will bring back a full report as well as many, many, photographs. Even underwater ones if my digital camera doesn’t fail me!
I cannot wait to lay around on the beach, swim, snorkel, and most of all spend time with my husband!

“What's the range of price I should expect to spend for a week in Maldives (incl. flight (from NYC) hotel, food, transportation)?”

raschema asks,
“What types of things should I bring besides the obvious... sunscreen, sunglasses, and books to read on the beach.
Do they have electric convertors or is this also something that I should bring (to charge my digital camera etc.)
Any help or advice i”
