Not the antepenultimate, nor the penultimate, but the ULTIMATE place to experience the Day of the Dead in Los Angeles. They have just posted their schedule for the November 2, 2006 activities on their website. Also moving is the October 21, 2006 Noche de Ofrenda, at which community altars of remembrance are assembled and blessed.
