A friend of mine is in University in Birmingham, and I’m going to visit her. We’re also going to Coventry, and to Cardiff, Wales, so I can mark that of my list too!

Anyone who is in college: The best way to travel is when your friends are studying abroad. I visited my friend here for two weeks while she was finishing up her semester in Oxford, Eng., and since I stayed with her I didn’t have to worry about or pay for a hotel. We shopped at the grocery store and cooked a lot so I didn’t have to pay for eating at restaurants as much, and as students, most touristy places we went offered student prices on admission (a couple pounds cheaper than regular adult admission in some places). I definitely recommend doing more traveling as a student and visiting any friends you know who are studying there… It’s very handy!
Also, I recommend a Britrail Pass… You can travel around the UK with it as much as you want within a set amount of days… it saved me loads on train tickets!!

Take the train, not a car. Safer for all of you used to driving on the right side of the road too!

Lived in West Ruislip, England from ages 11-14. I’d rather move back there then where I am currently living. I didn’t like it so much as a kid…but now that I’m older I would like to go back.
