its an adventure not a vacation. Was definitely eye opening, a cultural experience, a nature experience, but boy was I glad to get back to the US and not be swating bugs left and right. If you aren’t a strong adventurer I’d recommend watching the discovery channel specials on Tanzania instead.

I went there summer of 2006 by jakkaranda

I volunteered in a primary school for 4 weeks outside of Dar es Salaam. Always dreamed of going to Africa but this was beyond anything I had ever imagined. The scenery, the people..especially the children, the experiences I had which were unlike anything I had ever experienced before. I visited Zanzibar, Lake Manyara, N’gorogoro (spelling?), and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Tanzania stayed with me long after I left and I want/need to go back.

I loved it in Dar the coastal capital of Tanzania. The people are so nice and helpful! And the food…don’t get me started. Fried cassava, mogo(sp?) is what the locals call it. Pic is attached.
