How this place changed my life  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I went to Minsk with a small charity called “Leaves of Hope”. It focuses on improving the standard of life for orphaned children and creating new oppertunities for them. When i was over there i met a fantastic young girl called Tanya, and we got really attatched. By the end of the 2 weeks, she was calling me mom. We now write to each other, call each other and the people at her orphanage consider me to be her mom. I hope to adopt her one day (when im old enough etc.) unless she already has a new family

I was born there…. it’s beautiful. Minsk is great, and outside of the city there are amazing places to go camping. There are SO many stars in the sky and the nature is undisturbed there.

Went here for a training camp, then a competition in Minsk. We stayed at the Olympic training center which was no five-star, let me just say that. This is the camp, it was pretty good I learned a lot.

    Not worth it!

In the early 90’s on a trip with President Clinton. Pretty town. Olswald holed up here before he shot at President Kennedy. They’ve turned his apartment into a museum.

Don’t drink the milk or eat much raw food. Chernobyl destroyed most of nature’s harmony in the countryside.

I was raised in Belarus  — 2 years ago

I was born in Russia but raised in Belarus. Even though Belarussian maybe a native language, it wasn’t taught in school until ‘87/’88. Everyone speaks Russian. I’ve never liked Belarussian language, even though I made “A”s in school. I would like to go back there and visit my friends whom I haven’t seen in eight years. In order to make your experience worthy, you should learn about life, culture, and people over there. Yes, the economy is terrible and not much food to it, but there are still a lot of good things out there…same can be said about many other countries. I don’t think of it as a separate country from Russia—to me it’s all the same.
