the Bahamas. We sailed through there on our boat back when we used to do that sort of thing. I think my favourite island was Rum Cay. The people were so cool and I made alot of friends there.

There was also that island (I can’t remember the name) where we anchored out on Thanksgiving day. We got invited to eat Thanksgiving brunch with the islanders and then got invited for dinner by fellow sailors in the anchorage area. A really nice Thanksgiving, I loved it!

We also stayed at Nassau for a few days, because we had a problem with our engine (meaning my father dropped a little piece overboard and made me go diving to search for it every morning!) and it was at this island that I got my first Little House On The Prairie book. A family on another sailboat gave us a couple along with the full cassette works for the third Harry Potter book. Oh, and yes I managed to find the little engine piece my father dropped.

I was very young, but I remember a lot. My dad was stationed at Nassau. I remember crabs on the beaches, a really crappy hotel with roaches and a broken AC/Heater that was like a furnace, and supposedly we accidentally drove onto a pot plantation, and are lucky we were just turned in the right direction. But it was really pretty.

I would love to go back here again. But I went with my mom on this one day cruise to there. The ship dropped us off, and these taxi vans picked us up in groups. The van’s tire blew and we had to wait for another one, and it dropped us off at this touris location. I’d rather go back on my own.

I love this place, I went maybe five years ago and visited family. It’s so pretty, the water is clear, the foods good and the people are so friendly. Junkanoo was my favorite part, it’s a parade basically celebrating the new year and stuff. It’s a great place to visit and i highly recommend taking a trip.

I went to Nassua, Bahamas, when I was 5! I remember everything!!!  — 9 months ago

This was the BEST trip I ever took. My father was a stock broker, and business was celebrating all their top salesmen. My Dad being one of them! So, me, my 8 year old sister, and my Mom, all went to the Bahamas. When we got to the small island, we had to take a private plane, to Nassua. It was tiny, enough room for the 4 of us and the pilot. My momwas freaking. But when we got into the front of the hotel, it was heaven. Palm trees, everywhere. The men, were bulling down palms from the trees, for Palm Sunday, because it was in a few days. There was a casino, in the hotel. An old man, won lots of coins, when we were eating dinner, so he gave my sis and I each a coin. It was worth $100.00. Our room was ground level, right on the beach. The water was crystal clear, and blue. We also had a lagoon, across from out room, where there were water slides made from rocks. A huge waterfall, that you could swim in. Cute little bridges. It was a fantacy island, for me being 5. We went on a cruise, and went deep sea diving. My father dove for a pearl, for my Mother. We got to pet sting rays. We went into this needle point looking boes, that was ankored to the bottom of the sea. You walk underthe water, and see tons of fish, and sea life. Nothing I’d ever seen! And then you can walk to the very top, and see the view of the endless ocean, with a cool breeze on your face. We also went into the town, and saw how the bohemian people live. There were childres running up to our jeep, with oranges, asking for money. Like something you see on T.V. I was waving to them. The part of town we went to, was unfortunately poor. The chuches were so beautiful. And the shops, were great. We went to a few different towns. We were on the island for about two weeks. We had a babysitter, we called Annelia Bedillia. She was really nice. The burgers from the hotel, where $20.00. We saw a great fire works display, from John Hancock, where my Dad worked. They even wrote the name, in the sky. It was so unforgetable. I got to meet Mary Lou Retton, Olympic Gold Medalist, for gymnastics. And some other big stars, that I don’t remember. The food was great, the people were great, the sights were the best. I would recommend the Bahammas, but only if you have cash to burn. Don’t save up for it. You’re going to need extra, too. The best way to go, is rent a villa, with some friends. We saw a cute pink one. My parents were going to buy it. Something you will never forget!!
